Why now
The next chapter begins in Dallas
Sai Sankoh is preparing to introduce a new collection in August 2026 from her Dallas Design District showroom.
The brand's latest screen moment features Niecy Nash in the Serengeti Kaftan in Hulu's All's Fair, following years of television, film and wardrobe appearances across Netflix, PBS, NBC, ABC and Bravo.
At the center of it all is the same idea Sai began with in 2018: create clothing that helps a woman walk into a room feeling beautiful, confident and unforgettable.

The story
Collections as worlds
Sai Sankoh does not choose a location after a collection is finished. The location is part of the collection. Every campaign is shot on location and built as a complete world: the place, the women, the craft, and the memory the clothes carry long after the moment is over.
Featured story: Tales of Serengeti
A collection photographed during the Great Migration
For Tales of Serengeti, Sai traveled to Tanzania with a crew of more than 30 people to photograph the collection in the landscape that inspired it. Models arrived by hot air balloon.
The story continued beyond the clothes. Women in Tanzania created the hats and bags for the collection, and Sai invited those women to model the pieces themselves.
Years later, the Serengeti Goddess Kaftan from this collection appeared on Niecy Nash in Hulu's All's Fair. Niecy Nash has worn at least five Sai Sankoh looks; the Serengeti Goddess Kaftan is the one that appeared in the Hulu production.
Every collection, a destination

Portrait of a Lady

From a Harlem street to the screen
Sai partnered with Melba's Harlem to stage a fashion show on Frederick Douglass Boulevard, closing the street and turning the neighborhood into the runway. Melba Wilson is a long-time collector and has worn the brand repeatedly on national morning television.

Community
Custom work and community
- Sai created a custom print for a friend who is a member of Alpha Kappa Alpha. Tamron Hall wore the dress on her first episode after becoming an honorary member, and the print went on to become the viral Madison print.
- In June 2025, Sai created a collection for Delta Sigma Theta clients and chose actual members to model the pieces.
- In 2025, the showroom hosted a private gathering for Zeta members, including Dr. Stacie Grant.
- In 2025, Sai created a custom print for the Jack and Jill of America Fort Worth chapter.
- Her collectors include members of The Links and other women's organizations.
Custom work and private events reflect client and chapter relationships, not national organizational partnerships.
From Sai
— SaiI did not set out to dress television. I set out to make pieces that make a woman feel unforgettable when she walks into a room. It turns out the two are not so different.
Watching my kaftans appear on morning television, on Bravo, and in a Netflix film has meant the world to me. But the appearance I care about most will always be yours, at your birthday, on your trip, or during your night out.
I never wanted women to simply wear my clothes. I wanted them to remember how they felt in them.
Never go unnoticed.

About Sai
From pediatric nursing to fashion
Sai Sankoh was born in Sierra Leone and raised between Freetown, Stockholm, London and Accra before moving to the United States at 15.
Before fashion, she worked as a pediatric nurse. In 2018, she founded her namesake company around one simple belief: a woman should never have to shrink to walk into a room.
Today, Sai leads the business as founder, CEO and creative director from Dallas. She designs each collection, develops the brand's original prints and welcomes clients into the Dallas Design District showroom.
Her signature Goddess Kaftan is designed to fit beautifully across a wide range of bodies, and the full collection is available in sizes 0–24.

250-word bio
Sai Sankoh was born in Sierra Leone and grew up between London, Ghana and the United States. Before fashion, she was a nurse. In 2018, she launched her namesake luxury resortwear house, designing every print in-house from her showroom in the Dallas Design District — a 3,000-square-foot flagship with a rooftop lounge and a champagne shopping experience.
Her signature is the one-size Goddess Kaftan — long, draped, cut to flatter, and made from fine silks sourced from India, and engineered to fit US sizes 0–24. The prints begin as original artwork, which is why the women who wear them get stopped and asked where their outfit came from.
She was nominated twice for Fashion Group International's Rising Star Award and won in 2022. In 2024, D Magazine named her Best Resortwear and called her "the resortwear goddess," and she was honored among Black designers at the first Fashion Week event held on the New York Stock Exchange floor, where her Sahara Goddess Kaftan appeared on the NYSE screens.
Her work has appeared in Teen Vogue, Essence, Vogue Italia and WWD, on Netflix and Bravo, and across six years of national television — including TODAY, Good Morning America, The View and Bravo. She has dressed Beyoncé, Lupita Nyong'o, Gabrielle Union and Iman, among others.

The Origin Story
Before the label
Before founding Sai Sankoh, Sai built an audience through her personal style platform, Because I Am Fabulous, while working full time as a nurse.
Her early work and personal style were recognized by Washingtonian, The Washington Post, Vogue Italia, Essence, Elle South Africa, Humans of New York, Apartment Therapy and other publications. That audience became part of the foundation for the fashion company she launched in Dallas in 2018.
