Greetings from New York. I spent the weekend here celebrating the baby shower of my sister Mahawa. It was such an amazing weekend filled with laughter, love, tears of love and dancing.  One more day in the big apple and I head back home, but I can truly say after all these years of coming to the city, I have finally fallen in love with it. Have a wonderful week. I am wearing a Balmain skirt, J.Crew Turtleneck, Gatta tights and Christian Louboutin heels.

National Gallery of Art

I had the best weekend ever and I am still elated by it.  I had not done a shoot in a while, so when the sun came out this weekend I was beyond happy to shoot  I wore a gown I purchased last summer and chose the  National Gallery of Art in DC to photograph it. After the shoot on Saturday, I started out with drinks at the Ritz Carlton Georgetown, then a delish skyscraper seafood platter at Sea Catch, good conversations at the Rye Bar and ended the night at the movie theatre watching Kingsmen a second time. Key Bridge

Happy Monday. When I was first sent  a picture of this gown m had designed for my tailore had made for me , I literally fainted. It was so long and flowy, and just extremely dainty. My photographer knew the perfect location to shoot it. The Key Bridge. Keeping it as simple as possible, I put a beautiful cream belt with a lucite stone to accentuate my waist and wore my highest pair of shoes - a 6inch Christian Louboutin Lady Daf, and it still dragged. I love wearing a custom made dress, not only is it perfectly fitted to your body, but chances are you will most likely be the only one wearing it. I also enjoy working with up and coming designers and I am always wowed by how a beautiful African printed "Lapa" can turn into an amazing gown.
